Governor Highlights Importance of Compassion and Collective Responsibility in Cancer Fight

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar emphasized that the battle against cancer extends beyond medical treatment, encompassing compassion and collective responsibility. Speaking at the inauguration of a cancer summit in Ranchi, the Governor highlighted the complex nature of the disease, which affects not only the individual’s body but also the mental, social, and emotional stability of the entire family. He stressed the need for human empathy, trust, and a sense of belonging in cancer treatment, alongside medication. The Governor also discussed the significance of timely diagnosis and treatment, especially in a state like Jharkhand, where access to healthcare in remote areas remains a challenge. He lauded the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme as a revolutionary initiative, enabling free and quality treatment for the underprivileged. He called for collaboration among doctors, hospitals, the state government, and society to ensure the scheme’s success.
