Following the May rains that brought pleasant weather to many parts of the country, Delhi and several other states are now experiencing a heatwave. The capital city recorded a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius on Monday, with intense heat throughout the day. The NCR region faced scorching conditions due to clear skies and strong sunlight. The heat is expected to persist, with a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 29 degrees Celsius, accompanied by dust-laden winds and potential heatwave conditions until June 12. Relief is anticipated from June 13, as the weather department forecasts rain.

In Uttar Pradesh, the heat is also intense. The weather department has issued an orange alert for heatwave conditions in several districts. Rain is expected to return from tomorrow, with an alert for rain and thunderstorms in 60% of the districts on June 12.

Bihar is unlikely to get relief from the heat today, but the weather is expected to change late tonight. Heavy rainfall is anticipated from tomorrow with the arrival of the monsoon, expected to reach Bihar by June 15. Light rain is possible tonight in some districts. Jharkhand will also see a change in weather today, with strong winds and rain expected in several districts until June 14.

Rajasthan is again experiencing high temperatures, with a high of 47.3 degrees Celsius recorded in Sri Ganganagar. The weather department anticipates dry conditions and heatwave in most parts of western Rajasthan for the next week. Light rain may occur in the Kota and Bharatpur divisions on June 15-16. Haryana and Punjab are also expected to face intense heat this week.
