    The weather in Delhi presents a peculiar contrast. While the capital endures scorching heat and humidity, neighboring districts like Meerut and Mathura are experiencing rainfall. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for these areas through September 18th. In stark contrast, Delhi is predicted to remain dry, with no rain expected for the next five days, until September 22nd.

    Delhi has not seen rainfall since September 8th. According to the IMD, clear skies and sunshine are expected in Delhi until September 22nd, with a maximum temperature of up to 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature around 24 degrees Celsius.

    Meteorologically, Meerut is approximately 82 km from Delhi Station, while Mathura is 183 km away. Both districts are under a 48-hour rain alert, with cloudy skies and the possibility of thunderstorms. The maximum temperature is forecast to be 34 degrees Celsius, and the minimum, 25 degrees Celsius.

    The monsoon season is still active, causing heavy rainfall in many states. Mountainous regions like Uttarakhand are experiencing devastating conditions due to heavy rain. A cloudburst occurred in Dehradun on Tuesday, resulting in landslides and torrential rain in the Sahastradhara area. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall in several states today.

    Heavy rainfall has commenced in Uttar Pradesh. Today, some areas in western UP and many places in eastern UP can expect rain and thunderstorms. Eastern UP may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. Both regions are likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning. Over the next 3-4 days, the Purvanchal, Madhyanchal, and Terai districts can anticipate thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall.

    Bihar is expected to receive heavy rainfall until September 19th. Rainfall is anticipated in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and western Madhya Pradesh today. Eastern Madhya Pradesh might also see rain. West Bengal and Odisha are also likely to experience rainfall. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may have heavy rainfall through September 18th. Rainfall is expected in central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha.

    Concerning Punjab and Haryana, a significant heavy rain alert has been issued for Haryana. Rain is expected in many districts of the state today. According to the Meteorological Department, weather activities can be expected in the state from September 17-20. Similar weather patterns are expected in Punjab, with rain likely in several areas.

    Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are currently facing severe devastation due to heavy rainfall. A cloudburst struck Dehradun, Uttarakhand, yesterday. Reports of missing persons and fatalities are emerging. Significant devastation has also occurred in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rain. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall today in 7 districts of Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Chamoli, Nainital, and Champawat. Himachal Pradesh may experience relief from the rain starting tomorrow.
