Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Northwestern Districts of Jharkhand on August 23rd

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for August 23rd, with predictions of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the northwestern districts of Jharkhand, including Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, and Chatra. An orange alert has been issued by the department. The department anticipates good rainfall across various locations in the state for the next five days and has urged people to take precautions. Residents of low-lying areas have been advised to remain vigilant. Meteorologist Abhishek Anand stated that the heavy rainfall could be accompanied by strong winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour and the possibility of lightning strikes. He also indicated that waterlogging in low-lying areas is likely, potentially leading to the collapse of mud or sheet houses. Additionally, the continuous rainfall could cause accidents due to falling trees caused by the wet soil. The recent rainfall has affected daily life in several areas of the state, including the capital city, Ranchi. During the past 24 hours, Saraikela Kharsawan recorded the highest rainfall in the state, with 67.2 millimeters. Ranchi received 12.2 millimeters of rainfall during this period. On Friday, the maximum temperature in Ranchi was 29.8 degrees Celsius, 30.8 degrees in Jamshedpur, 33.6 degrees in Daltonganj, 32.1 degrees in Bokaro, and 32.8 degrees in Chaibasa.
