Residents across Jharkhand are experiencing a noticeable dip in temperatures as the cold season begins to take hold. Both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to continue their downward trend. While occasional weather fluctuations might cause minor variations of a few degrees, the overall forecast indicates a consistent cooling. The meteorological department confirmed this shift on Saturday, noting that despite the current chill, some districts are still recording maximum temperatures above 34 degrees Celsius. However, these higher readings are anticipated to decrease as winter conditions strengthen in the coming days.

Compared to Friday, several districts in Jharkhand saw a decrease of one to two degrees Celsius in temperature on Saturday. Ranchi experienced a one-degree drop in its minimum temperature. Similarly, Daltonganj recorded a one-degree decrease in its maximum temperature, Bokaro saw a one-degree dip in its minimum, and Chaibasa’s maximum temperature also fell by one degree. These localized changes signal the broader cooling pattern affecting the state.

Furthermore, the past 24 hours brought light to moderate rainfall to some parts of Jharkhand. Manoharpur was the wettest area, recording 20 millimeters of rain. Other locations, including Sonua, Kurdeg, Adki, and Gumla, received between 10 to 14 millimeters. The highest temperature recorded in the state during this period was 34.4 degrees Celsius in Gonda, while the lowest was 18.2 degrees Celsius in Latehar. Ranchi registered a maximum temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius, Jamshedpur 34 degrees, Daltonganj 33.4 degrees, Bokaro 33.1 degrees, and Chaibasa a maximum of 34.4 degrees Celsius.
