The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has officially released a notification for the recruitment of 3,451 Special Education Assistant Teacher positions. This recruitment drive, identified as JIGTSEATCCE‑2025, targets intermediate and graduate-trained teachers specializing in special education. The entire application process is conducted online, offering a streamlined way for eligible candidates to apply for these regular government positions.
The vacancies are spread across various primary schools in Jharkhand, aimed at providing crucial support to children with special needs. The JSSC will conduct a joint competitive examination to fill these 3,451 regular posts. Aspiring candidates can begin their online application on December 14, 2025. The application window will remain open until midnight on January 13, 2026. This period also covers the registration, document upload, and fee payment stages. Prospective applicants must first register on the JSSC portal before proceeding to fill out the application form and completing the submission process.
The examination fee for general category candidates is set at ₹100. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and certain reserved categories from Jharkhand will have a reduced fee of ₹50. All payments must be made online. Applicants are strongly advised to verify their eligibility and ensure all their documents are in order before submitting their applications, as fees are non-refundable.
Eligibility requires specialized training in special education from a recognized institution; standard B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualifications alone are not sufficient. For graduate-trained positions, candidates need a graduate degree from a recognized university along with a Special B.Ed or a diploma/certificate in special education with a general B.Ed. Intermediate-trained positions require intermediate education plus specific diploma qualifications in special education.
The selection process will be entirely based on a Computer Based Test (CBT). This exam comprises three papers with multiple-choice questions. Paper I includes General Hindi and one language, Paper II covers Jharkhand’s regional and state languages, and Paper III focuses on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Child Development, Pedagogy, Special and Inclusive Education, and general studies related to Jharkhand. The final merit list will be prepared based on the performance in these papers.
The pay scale for these Special Education Assistant Teachers will align with the state government’s revised teacher service rules, approximately at Level-6 with the corresponding grade pay, similar to other trained government teachers. Reservation benefits will be applied according to Jharkhand’s existing policies for various categories, including gender and disability. Only permanent residents of Jharkhand are eligible for reservation; candidates from other states will be considered under the unreserved category.
