The Kokar Industrial Area, a 54-acre expanse in the heart of Ranchi, is a sorry sight, plagued by broken roads, overflowing drains, and heaps of garbage. Encroachment and abandoned vehicles lining the streets add to the woes. At night, roads transform into parking lots for heavy vehicles, making it difficult for pedestrians. The industrial area lacks public restrooms and potable water facilities, with only a few streetlights for illumination. Despite the Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) collecting an annual user charge of ₹16,300 per acre, the area remains neglected.
