In the Latehar district of Jharkhand, the Bariyatu police station area witnessed a violent incident late Saturday night near the CCL-affected Phulbasiya (Amarwadih) railway siding. Criminals set fire to a truck (Hyva) and fired 3-4 rounds. Police are investigating the incident, questioning personnel, and have recovered a note claiming responsibility from the Rahul Dubey gang. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM when four criminals arrived on a bike and started firing. They attempted to set another truck on fire, but the driver escaped. The burnt truck was completely destroyed. Police officials, including the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and station in-charges, arrived at the scene to investigate. The recovered note warned coal traders in the Latehar, Chatra, and Balumath areas to conduct business only after contacting the gang, threatening consequences for non-compliance. The SDPO initially denied the firing but confirmed an ongoing investigation and FIR filing, with raids underway to arrest the criminals.
