In Koderma, a tragic incident occurred when a wild elephant attacked and killed a young man named Saddam Ansari (30) in Markachcho. The victim, along with two companions, was reportedly trying to capture photos and videos of the elephant when the animal charged at them. During the ensuing chaos, Saddam fell and was subsequently attacked by the elephant. He was lifted by the elephant’s trunk, thrown in the air, and then crushed underfoot. Despite immediate medical attention and transfer to a hospital in Ranchi, he succumbed to his injuries near Hazaribagh. The elephant had previously damaged a farmer’s motorcycle in the area. Saddam was the sole breadwinner for his family and is survived by two young children. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the village.
