On World Mental Health Day, a significant legal awareness camp was organized at Jeevodaya Institute in Koderma. This event was a collaborative effort spearheaded by the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma, in alignment with directives from the Ranchi Legal Services Authority. Partnering organizations included Hand in Hand India, Children of India Foundation, Lions Club Koderma, and Marwari Yuva Manch. Presided over by Bal Krishna Tiwari, the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority and President of the District and Sessions Judge of Koderma, the camp aimed to raise awareness and offer support.

The chief guest, Gautam Kumar, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma, emphasized the critical need for empathetic treatment of individuals with mental health conditions. He highlighted that love and compassion are often more vital than medication for their recovery and integration into society. Kumar reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to assisting any distressed individual, regardless of their financial status, ensuring no one is denied justice due to a lack of resources.

Rahul Jain, President of Marwari Yuva Manch, stressed the importance of including individuals with mental disabilities in the mainstream of society, seeing this as the true relevance of the day. He lauded the District Legal Services Authority’s role in this endeavor. Sujeet Kumar Ambastha, District Chairperson of Lions Club Koderma, urged a deeper examination of the causes of mental illness and advised the public to limit mobile and TV usage. Archana Jwala, Nodal Officer of Sakhi One Stop Center, praised Jeevodaya for setting a societal example through its dedicated service to those with mental health challenges. Rupesh Kumar from Hand in Hand India added that consistent love and support, not just on one day, are crucial for the well-being of these individuals.

Dr. Ashish Raj, a medical officer, commended the authority for organizing the event. Sister Salomi from Holy Family Nursing School provided details about Jeevodaya’s work and expressed gratitude for the support received. Sister Ronita from Jeevodaya concluded by thanking all guests and participating organizations. The event commenced with a welcome song by students of Holy Family Nursing School and honored guests with bouquets presented by individuals from Jeevodaya. The proceedings were expertly managed by court official Ranjit Kumar Singh.
