    Ranchi Airport Area to be Developed on Metropolitan Lines, Rs 45.3 Crores Approved

    Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed the development of the Airport Road, Hinu Chowk, and Birsa Chowk routes, which serve as the city’s gateway to the airport, to be undertaken on the lines of metropolitan cities. In this regard, Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar has approved five related projects with a budget of Rs 45 crore, 3 lakh, 64 thousand, and 500. Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department, Sunil Kumar, has instructed JUIDCO to initiate the implementation by issuing tenders soon. The Principal Secretary stated that the modernization and beautification of the airport area of the capital are being carried out under urban planning to provide a good experience for arriving guests. The projects include Rs 10 crore, 42 lakh, 27 thousand, and 100 for road strengthening from the airport to Hinu Chowk, Rs 14 crore, 64 lakh, 78 thousand, and 800 for hard and soft scape (greenery and illuminated decoration), Rs 7 crore, 50 lakh, 73 thousand, and 200 for the strengthening of the road from Hinu to Birsa Chowk, Rs 9 crore, 3 lakh, 38 thousand, and 800 for hard and soft scape, and Rs 3 crore, 42 lakh, and 46600 for the development of Hinu Chowk and the roundabout. The airport to Hinu Chowk road (1.65 km) will be widened to six lanes where possible, with surface renovation, footpaths, cycling paths, smart street lights, flooring panels, LED lighting, and artwork on the walls based on tribal art and culture. Additionally, there will be stone artwork on both sides of the road, grand archways based on the ancient art and culture of Jharkhand, landscaping, designer trees and plants, drinking water and sanitation facilities, and the provision of parks and parking in empty spaces. The Hinu Chowk to Birsa Chowk (1.2 km) road will undergo surface renovation and beautification, with the construction of a six-lane road. The dividers will be decorated with plants. Landscaping, paver blocks, footpaths, and cycle paths will be created. Shade trees, designer plants, attractive street and LED lights, landscaping, and toilets will also be installed. The Hinu Chowk will be modernized, with the improvement of the statue of Karpuri Thakur installed there. Statues of freedom fighters of Jharkhand will be installed in empty spaces. The current 12-meter roundabout will be expanded to 22 meters. In addition, landscaping, modern LED lights, colorful lights, and beautiful greenery will be installed.
