A new super-specialty hospital, RIMS-2, slated to be Asia’s largest, is set to be built in Jharkhand. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a financial assistance of ₹1000 crore for the project. This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Additional Chief Secretary, Ajay Kumar Singh, concerning the project’s financial structure. The remaining funds will be allocated from the state plan. The design and construction of the hospital are in their final stages, with a groundbreaking ceremony planned soon. Once completed, this project will position Jharkhand as a major healthcare hub and medical tourism destination not only in eastern India but across the country. It promises to be a beacon of hope for both the residents of Jharkhand and patients across the nation. Following the Chief Minister’s directives, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, along with the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh, visited the Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Delhi, to conduct an in-depth study of its medical care, management, and research capabilities. RIMS-2 will be developed based on the Amrita model. The project will feature an integrated super-specialty hospital with a capacity of 2600 beds, along with cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and other super-specialty services. The facility will also have a medical college, nursing and paramedical institutes, doctors’ quarters, hostels, a stadium, an advanced research center, and telemedicine units. This will provide comprehensive treatment and educational facilities under one roof.
