    The Smart City Mission marked its tenth anniversary with celebrations. Rupa Mishra, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Director of the Smart City Mission, addressed the CEOs and officials of all smart cities via video conference. Mishra congratulated them on the milestone, acknowledging the positive transformation and momentum the mission has brought to urbanization in the country. She emphasized the importance of maintaining this progress and stated that the Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) established for the development of the 100 cities would continue their work. She also mentioned the intention to leverage the expertise of these entities in urban planning initiatives.

    Information on ongoing projects was also provided by Ranchi Smart City to the Indian government. Rakesh Kumar Nandkyoliyar, General Manager (Technical) of Ranchi Smart City Corporation, highlighted the work on a Greenfield project that is giving a new direction to Ranchi city. The government is also working on similar Greenfield development plans in other parts of the state.

    The Director of the Smart City Mission praised the project, advocating for similar projects in other cities across the country. The Smart City Mission, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, will create a blueprint based on the Ranchi Smart City model. This model aims to ensure planned development, provide world-class amenities, create job opportunities, and enable self-sufficiency through land monetization.
