Security forces are conducting continuous operations to achieve the goal of making Jharkhand Naxal-free. In this context, a large-scale operation is underway against Naxals in the dense and difficult forests of the West Singhbhum district. However, in this challenging operation, security forces have to contend not only with Naxals but also with poisonous animals and natural disasters. The recent incident occurred in the Nurdha forest of Chaitasa, where a soldier died from a snakebite.
During an anti-Naxal operation in the Nurdha forest, a cobra bit Sandeep Kumar, a soldier of the 209 Battalion. He was given first aid immediately after the snakebite and was being taken to Ranchi for better treatment, but he died on the way.
