    Surya Hansda was killed in a police encounter in Godda, Jharkhand. Hansda was wanted in connection with several criminal cases. The encounter took place near Jirli Samari hill in the Boarijor police station area of Godda district. Hansda also possessed political influence. He had contested elections multiple times to become an MLA from the Borio assembly seat in the Sahibganj district of Jharkhand.
