A shocking incident unfolded in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where traffic police personnel were brutally assaulted by auto rickshaw drivers. The incident occurred in broad daylight at the Kathal Mod area of Nagri police station jurisdiction. A video of the assault, captured by a bystander, has gone viral on social media, showing the auto drivers repeatedly attacking the officers.
According to reports, the attack involved three to four auto drivers who used stones to assault the traffic police. One officer, identified as Rohit Ganjhu, sustained serious head injuries after being struck with a stone and was rushed to the RIMS hospital in Ranchi for treatment. The auto drivers fled the scene following the assault.
Police have launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. The Ranchi Traffic SP has vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the assault. The investigation is being led by the Nagri police station in-charge. The viral video depicts the auto drivers aggressively assaulting the traffic police officers, who are seen retaliating with batons. The video also shows the moment when an officer was hit with a stone and subsequently fell to the ground.
