On the first day of the monsoon session of the Assembly, tributes were paid to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, former Education Minister Ramdas Soren, and other deceased individuals from across the country. Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahto stated that during the current monsoon session, the Assembly had lost notable figures including Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and former School Education Minister Ramdas Soren, along with former Governor Satyapal Malik. Mahto highlighted that the passing of Dishom Guru marked the end of an era, but the political, social, and cultural consciousness he instilled in Jharkhand would always guide the state’s equitable reconstruction. The Speaker noted that the demise of Shibu Soren, a former Chief Minister and founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, represented the end of an era, but the great mass movement associated with him testified to the enduring legacy of Jharkhand Baba. Dishom Guru Shibu Soren was not only a major politician of Jharkhand and the country but also a prominent flag bearer of Jharkhandi identity and culture. In 1972, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha was formed, which later took on the responsibility of constructing and developing Jharkhand. He was considered a comprehensive, autonomous, and development-oriented leader whose foundation was built on the original Jharkhandi culture, advocating for inclusive development, coexistence, and a deep respect for nature. The Assembly also paid tributes to Group Captain D.K. Parulkar, a hero of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, Padma Shri Vinod Kumar Pasayat, a renowned playwright, poet, and lyricist, Satyapal Malik, former Governor of Goa, Bihar, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir and former Rajya Sabha MP, and senior journalist Harinarayan Singh. Tributes were also paid to those who lost their lives due to cloudbursts in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The Speaker then adjourned the proceedings of the House until 11 a.m. on Monday.
