The Vijaya Dashami festival of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was celebrated in Koker (Shivaji Nagar) of Ranchi city on Thursday. On this occasion, Sah-Karyavah of the Sangh, Alok Kumar, addressed the volunteers and citizens, calling for a long-term social transformation. He stated that keeping in mind the centenary year of the Sangh’s establishment, volunteers will work for ‘five changes’ in society for the next 15 to 20 years. Kumar outlined five transformative steps to empower, self-reliant, and harmonious society, which every volunteer should make a goal of their life. He emphasized that the vision of a harmonious nation will remain incomplete until equality reaches the last person in society. Alok Kumar, expressing concern over the increasing environmental imbalance, mentioned that protecting the environment is not only the responsibility of the government, but of every citizen. Highlighting the family as the basic unit of society, he mentioned that sensitive, cultured, and empowered families strengthen the foundation of the nation. Emphasizing the use of indigenous products, he clarified that ‘Vocal for Local’ is not just a slogan, but a key to India’s economic independence. He explained that a conscious citizen is one who fulfills his duties first; rights automatically follow. In his address, Alok Kumar, linking it to the historical context of Vijaya Dashami, stated that just as Mother Durga destroyed the ego of Mahishasura and Lord Ram destroyed the ego of Ravana, similarly, we must end the ego, ignorance, and negativity within ourselves and use knowledge, power, and wealth for the benefit of society. He said that the volunteers of the Sangh will go to the society and conduct door-to-door contact for education, patriotism, disaster management, and social awareness. Amidst the heavy rain, hundreds of volunteers conducted a disciplined march in Koker Nagar. Along with this, traditional weapons were worshiped, which is a symbol of the balance of power and dignity. On this occasion, Prant Pracharak Gopal Sharma, Vibhag Sanghchalak Vivek Bhasin, Nagar Sanghchalak Vijay Raj, Shashikant, Mukesh Kapoor, Madan Rajbhar, Anand Dubey, Sachchidanand, Rajendra, Sanjeev Vijayvargiya, former Deputy Mayor, and many dignitaries were present.
