Woman Dies by Suicide on Social Media Live, Husband Detained

In the Kadma police station area of East Singhbhum, a 28-year-old woman named Malti Kumari ended her life by live-streaming on social media on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at quarter number 16/19 in the Form Area. At the time of the event, she was alone at home because her husband was at work and their two children were at school. Reports indicate that she used her scarf to hang herself from a fan in the room. In the live video, Malti held her husband, Sahdev Yadav, accountable for their disagreements and the daily torment she endured. Family members immediately rushed her to TMH, where doctors declared her dead. Malti married Sahdev Yadav in 2013, and they had two children. Her husband is a contract worker at Tata Steel. Originally from Giridih, she had in-laws in Koderma but resided in Kadma with her husband and children. Based on the social media live video, Kadma police took the husband into custody on Saturday for questioning. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem. The incident has deeply affected the family and the local community.
