Woman Dies by Suicide on Social Media Live, Husband in Custody

In the Kadma police station area of East Singhbhum, a 28-year-old woman, Malti Kumari, died by suicide on Friday afternoon by going live on social media. The incident occurred at quarter number 16/19 in the Form Area. At the time of the incident, the woman was alone at home as her husband was at work and both children were at school. According to information, the woman hanged herself with her scarf from the ceiling fan in the room. In the live video, Malti blamed her husband, Sahdev Yadav, for mutual disputes and daily harassment. Family members immediately rushed the woman to TMH, where doctors declared her dead. Malti married Sahdev Yadav in 2013 and they had two children. Her husband is a contract worker at Tata Steel. The woman was originally from Giridih, while her in-laws are in Koderma, but she lived in Kadma with her husband and children. Based on the live video on social media, the Kadma police station took the husband into custody on Saturday and began questioning him. The body was handed over to the family members after the postmortem. The incident has shaken the family and local residents.
