In a decisive move for regional progress, Union Communications and Northeast Development Minister Jyotiraditya Sindhia demanded strict adherence to timelines for key projects during a DISHA meeting in Ashoknagar on Monday.

The Guna MP delved deep into the district’s administrative performance, scrutinizing schemes in health, education, irrigation, drinking water, infrastructure, employment, industry, and urban planning. Clear action plans emerged from the discussions, targeting bottlenecks head-on.

Healthcare received a major boost: 40 vacancies at the 100-bed hospital, covering specialists and support staff, stand filled. Advance approvals ensure the 300-bed hospital opens by May 2027. Irrigation efforts focus on the Rs 550 crore Chanderi project, due June 2026, and the massive Rs 1,572 crore Rajghat scheme serving 812 villages by December 2026.

The local call center, hailed as a ‘Navratna’ gem, employs 505 youths, with expansion plans featuring a private-sector-backed 1,000-seat facility. Transport Nagar’s relocation got a firm deadline directive.

Outside the meeting, Sindhia outlined BJP’s vision for Ashoknagar’s facelift: a phased Rs 45 crore sports complex, plus Rs 40 crore for lake rejuvenation and aesthetic roads. Road connectivity improves via the 55-km Shadora-Karila Mata path (December 2026) and 81-km Purwai-Mungawli-Chanderi stretch (June 2026).

This comprehensive strategy promises transformative development, fostering employment and essential services for sustained prosperity.
