In a bustling Patna interview, BJP youth MLA and celebrated singer Maithili Thakur dissected the latest Union Budget, calling it a game-changer for marginalized groups. Known for her dual role in politics and Bhojpuri music, Thakur doesn’t shy away from tough issues, including the heated NEET student suicide controversy rocking Bihar.

‘Justice for the girl and her family is imminent,’ Thakur affirmed, before diving into budget highlights. She lauded its inclusive approach: ‘Tailored for youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged, it promotes high-value agriculture—think coconuts, cashews, walnuts—and introduces district-level girls’ hostels. Small but impactful steps like these reflect deep foresight.’

A key applause went to the She-Mart platform for Lakhpati Didis, enabling market access for women-led businesses and fostering financial empowerment. Echoing this on social media, Thakur live-streamed her reactions to FM Sitharaman’s address. ‘Watched with my voters—women’s active involvement was inspiring. It champions empowerment, farm prosperity, poverty alleviation, and youth jobs. Sharing in simple terms is democracy at work.’

Addressing the NEET tragedy amid family allegations of police cover-up on murder and assault, Thakur stressed vigilance. ‘As a woman, I insist on swift justice. We raise it with the Home Minister constantly. CBI’s investigation is reliable.’

Bihar’s political temperature is rising post the aspirant’s death, with demands for transparency. Transferring the probe to CBI signals serious intent, as Thakur’s balanced commentary bridges entertainment, politics, and public sentiment.
