Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Responds to Rambhadracharya’s ‘Mini Pakistan’ Remark

A statement by spiritual leader Rambhadracharya, suggesting that Western Uttar Pradesh resembles a ‘mini Pakistan,’ has ignited controversy. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi, President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, strongly condemned the remark, labeling it divisive and misleading to Hindus. He asserted that there has been no migration in Western UP, and residents are thriving. He highlighted the peaceful coexistence of Hindus and Muslims in areas like Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, and Meerut, noting population growth in both communities. Razvi questioned the basis of Rambhadracharya’s claims, emphasizing that Muslims constitute only 20% of the national population. He also satirized the issue of population control, pointing out that calls for increased childbearing have come from various figures, including RSS leaders. Razvi wondered if any Muslim had ever prohibited childbirth or if any Muslim organization had ever discouraged it. He questioned why Indian spiritual leaders should invoke the name of Pakistan and called for unifying statements from spiritual leaders, rather than those that create tension.
