In the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, the police have stated that Sonam Raghuvanshi and her accomplice have confessed to their involvement in the crime. Despite the victim’s family requesting a narco test, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has declined, citing sufficient existing evidence. Superintendent of Police (East Khasi Hills) Vivek Syiem confirmed the decision, explaining that narco-analysis results are inadmissible in court. The police emphasized that the accused have already admitted guilt and that the crime scene has been reconstructed, providing ample evidence. The motive behind the murder was not primarily financial; the individuals sought to eliminate the victim due to his interference with their relationship and business plans. The police are now investigating Lokendra Tomar, the owner of an infrastructure company and a flat in Indore where Sonam resided before her arrest. Authorities are examining the removal of a bag from the flat, which reportedly contained a pistol, a mobile phone, jewelry, and cash, suspecting an attempt to conceal evidence. Two individuals face accusations of evidence tampering. The police are also working to recover the jewelry taken from Meghalaya. Silome James, Balveer, and Lokendra Tomar are expected to appear in a Shillong court, with James and Balveer slated for further questioning.
