In a heartening statement from Ajmer, Bishop Remson Victor of the Rajasthan Diocese under the Church of North India voiced robust expectations from the Union Budget 2026 for minority upliftment. Speaking on Saturday, he lauded the Modi government’s multifaceted efforts in minority development.

The Bishop drew attention to the transformative impact of the Minority Development and Finance Corporation, which has opened doors to jobs and self-employment for countless minority members. Government programs have extended tangible benefits to Christians and other minority groups alike.

Preservation of cultural legacy through ‘Hamari Dhrohar’ stands out, alongside infrastructure upgrades via the Prime Minister’s Jan Vikas Programme—enhancing educational facilities, healthcare, and community centers for the underprivileged.

The ‘Nai Roshni’ initiative has been a game-changer for minority women, building their leadership acumen and economic savvy. PM Modi’s unwavering commitment to minority welfare continues to inspire, with Christian outfits thriving in social service thanks to state backing.

‘Budgets spark hopes across communities, and we minorities seek provisions attuned to our priorities,’ Bishop Victor remarked, anticipating focused allocations in the upcoming fiscal plan that will spur inclusive progress.

As the budget session unfolds—kicked off on January 28 with the Economic Survey on January 29—Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Sunday presentation on February 1 breaks new ground.

The Bishop hailed PM Modi’s Christmas visit to Delhi’s Cathedral of Redemption as a profound gesture of interfaith harmony, with his dialogues with church leaders reinforcing societal confidence.

Bishop Victor’s faith in the government’s vision remains unshaken, predicting bold budget measures to protect minorities while advancing the nation’s development trajectory for every citizen.
