Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Diwali with the brave personnel of the Indian Navy aboard the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Describing the experience as ‘memorable,’ he shared his pride in celebrating the festival of lights with the armed forces. During his visit, which spanned Sunday and Monday, PM Modi addressed the naval crew, highlighting INS Vikrant as a symbol of India’s robust defense capabilities. He reminisced about Operation Sindoor, stating that the Indian forces, with exceptional inter-service coordination, compelled Pakistan to surrender within days. The Prime Minister emphasized that INS Vikrant represents more than just a warship; it embodies India’s dedication, ingenuity, and strength. He spoke of the palpable energy and patriotic spirit he witnessed among the soldiers, noting how their songs vividly recounted the successes of Operation Sindoor, evoking the profound emotions of those on the front lines. He further remarked on the psychological impact of the INS Vikrant, suggesting its very presence instills fear in adversaries. The Prime Minister also pointed to the critical role of the BrahMos cruise missile in Operation Sindoor, acknowledging its deterrent effect and mentioning international interest in acquiring it. Looking ahead, he reiterated his government’s ambition to position India as a leading global defense exporter. Additionally, PM Modi touched upon the progress in combating Maoist insurgency, expressing confidence in the security forces’ ability to eradicate the remaining ‘red terror.’
