During a significant two-day visit to India, Russian President Vladimir Putin received a special gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi: a copy of the Bhagavad Gita. The sacred text was presented in the Russian language, symbolizing a bridge of cultural and spiritual understanding between the two nations. Prime Minister Modi shared on social media platform X that the teachings of the Gita inspire millions globally.

President Putin arrived at Palam Airport on Thursday evening and was warmly greeted by Prime Minister Modi, who met him personally and shared a brief hug before they traveled together to the Prime Minister’s residence for a private dinner. Modi expressed his delight in welcoming his Russian counterpart, highlighting the enduring and beneficial India-Russia friendship. He anticipated productive interactions during Putin’s visit.

President Putin’s schedule for Friday included a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan, a visit to Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Raj Ghat, and crucial bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House. Key agreements and deals were expected to be announced following their joint press statements. The Russian President was also slated to engage with Indian business leaders at a dedicated event and meet with Indian President Droupadi Murmu before his departure that evening, marking a packed agenda for diplomatic and economic engagement.
