The monsoon season has brought widespread devastation to several parts of India. Heavy rainfall has triggered severe flooding in Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, causing significant damage and disruption.

In Jharkhand’s Garhwa district, the Koyal River overflowed due to incessant rain, washing away construction materials for a bridge and resulting in substantial financial losses. Fortunately, no loss of life has been reported.

Maharashtra’s Nashik has also been severely impacted, with the Godavari River swelling and inundating temples and religious sites along its banks. Videos show the extent of the flooding, with structures and statues submerged. Additionally, a vehicle was caught in the floodwaters, and rescue operations are underway.

In Rajasthan’s Banswara district, a tractor was swept away by floodwaters on a low-lying bridge in Makanpur village. The driver is currently missing. The incident highlights the dangers posed by the sudden rise in water levels during heavy rainfall. These events serve as a stark reminder of the monsoon’s destructive power and the importance of preparedness.
