The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts an increase in rainfall activity as the monsoon season progresses. The weather agency anticipates isolated heavy showers across Northwest India starting June 25th. Furthermore, alerts have been issued for intense rainfall across Central, East, and Northeast India over the next week.

According to the IMD’s recent statement, West Madhya Pradesh will experience heavy downpours today, while Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh will face rain between June 23rd and 27th. Residents in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh are urged to be cautious due to potential traffic disruptions and waterlogging caused by the ongoing rain.

The monsoon is also expected to impact parts of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat, beginning today and likely lasting until June 29, 2025. Additionally, the IMD suggests that weather conditions favor the advancement of the southwest monsoon into the remaining areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. The monsoon is predicted to arrive in Delhi by June 30th.

A warning for isolated heavy rainfall has been issued for Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Haryana between June 25th and 27th; Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan between June 24th and 29th; West Rajasthan on June 24th & 25th; East Uttar Pradesh on June 24th, 28th & 29th; Kerala, and Karnataka between June 24th and 27th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on June 27th and 28th.
