Mumbai has been brought to a standstill by relentless rainfall, causing widespread waterlogging and significant disruption. The situation has led to severe traffic congestion and delays in train services. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that the heavy rains have resulted in loss of life and damage to property. SDRF and NDRF personnel have been deployed to assist those affected. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had previously issued warnings for intense rainfall, which exacerbated the crisis. A cloudburst in Mukhed, Nanded district, further worsened the conditions, leading to devastating consequences. The Indian Army has been mobilized to aid residents in Mukhed, and reports indicate multiple rain-related fatalities across the region.
