A 35-year-old teacher in Navi Mumbai has been apprehended following allegations of engaging in a semi-nude video call with a minor student. The arrest came after the boy’s father filed a complaint with the police, triggering an FIR under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Authorities have stated that the teacher had been sending inappropriate messages via social media to the student before initiating the video calls. The boy subsequently informed his parents, leading to the complaint. The police are also investigating if the teacher had any prior instances of similar conduct. The teacher’s mobile phone has been seized as part of the investigation. This incident follows another recent case where a 40-year-old teacher from a Mumbai school was arrested for alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old boy.
