Following a dispute involving a viral video, IPS officer Anjana Krishna faces scrutiny. NCP leader Amol Mitkari has requested the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to investigate Krishna’s documents. Mitkari has written a letter to the UPSC Secretary, spurred by a viral video concerning Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar. The controversy stems from a situation in Solapur’s Madha area involving illegal soil mining. The video allegedly shows Pawar speaking with Krishna via phone to halt the illegal mining. Krishna is purported to have refused to acknowledge Pawar, after which the call ended. The video circulated widely on social media, generating controversy. Mitkari’s letter to the UPSC Secretary calls for an examination of Krishna’s educational and caste certificates, along with other documents. He expressed doubts regarding the authenticity of the documents and requested the commission to verify their accuracy through investigation. The incident occurred when Krishna, upon learning about the illegal soil mining, arrived at the site with her team. When she initiated action, NCP leader Baba Jagtap Singh contacted Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and asked him to speak with Krishna. Krishna allegedly refused to recognize Pawar, requesting a call from his official number. Consequently, the call ended, and the video went viral. Anjana Krishna hails from Thiruvananthapuram. She secured the 355th rank in the 2023 UPSC exam and currently serves as DSP in Karmala, Solapur. Her father is a small cloth merchant, and her mother works as a typist in court. Krishna is described as a fearless IPS officer.
