BJP MP Yogendra Chandoliya unleashed a blistering attack on Congress icons Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, pinning India’s lag behind China on their leadership failures. This fiery response targeted Rahul Gandhi’s critique of the nation’s progress.

Speaking at a rally, Chandoliya lamented how Nehru’s idealism during the 1962 Sino-Indian war and Indira’s economic controls stifled India’s potential. ‘China invested in industry while we debated socialism,’ he quipped, drawing cheers from the crowd.

He contrasted this with China’s market reforms in the late 1970s, which propelled it to global powerhouse status. India, under Congress, he claimed, remained mired in license raj and bureaucratic red tape until liberalization in 1991.

Rahul Gandhi’s observation on developmental shortfalls prompted this rebuttal. Chandoliya highlighted BJP’s achievements: bullet trains, expressways, and defense self-reliance as steps to bridge the chasm.

Political analysts see this as classic election rhetoric, where history becomes a battleground. Yet, data shows India’s services sector booming and startup ecosystem rivaling global peers, signaling a turnaround.

As the debate rages, Chandoliya urged unity behind Modi’s vision, warning against returning to ‘those dark days of Congress misrule.’ The statement has gone viral, fueling nationwide discussions on India’s China trajectory.
