A joint operation by the Noida STF and Baghpat Police in the Kotwali area of Baghpat resulted in an encounter with a truck robbery gang. During the operation, a wanted dacoit was shot and injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep, son of Satveer, a resident of Bhaini Maharajganj, Mahem, Rohtak. Sandeep was a fugitive in connection with a truck robbery involving nickel plates worth approximately four crore rupees in the Panki police station area of Kanpur. A reward of one lakh rupees was declared for his capture.
Sandeep was implicated in numerous serious crimes, including the murder of truck drivers and highway robbery. He is believed to have murdered more than four drivers and looted their trucks.
Over 16 cases of highway robbery and the murder of truck drivers are registered against him across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
