The Jharkhand ATS, in a significant operation, has brought notorious gangster Mayank Singh, also known as Sunil Meena, to Ranchi following the completion of extradition procedures from Azerbaijan. Authorities shared that a team led by SP Rishav Kumar Jha of the Jharkhand ATS visited Azerbaijan to finalize the necessary legal formalities for the extradition. Mayank Singh was then brought back to India. Special security arrangements were in place at Birsa Munda Airport, ensuring a high level of surveillance.

SP Rishav Kumar Jha noted that this marks the first successful extradition in the history of Jharkhand Police. He expressed confidence that other criminals from abroad would also be brought back to India soon through either extradition or deportation. This is a major achievement, and the authorities are grateful for the support from the DGP, Chief Minister, and the state and central governments. Mayank Singh has over 50 cases registered against him in several states, including Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Punjab, and he has been wanted for a long time.
