A significant initiative has been launched to enhance the education and overall development of tribal children. The National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Department (NSTFDC) and Coal India Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish 76 Eklavya Model Residential Schools. This partnership aims to provide quality education, healthcare, and holistic development opportunities to tribal students. The initiative was marked by the presence of Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy.

Currently, 479 Eklavya Model Schools are operational across the country, focusing on the comprehensive development of tribal children. These schools are considered key to supporting tribal students in accessing higher education and employment. Coal India’s involvement marks a step forward in this direction.
