Under Operation Sindhu, India successfully evacuated over 2,500 of its citizens from Iran amidst ongoing conflict. Those evacuated have commended the government’s efforts and expressed their appreciation for their safe return. One evacuee, Saiyada Jeniffer Rizvi, described the situation in Iran as dire, emphasizing the challenges they would have faced without the Indian Embassy’s support. Another evacuee, Kasim, expressed his joy at being home, praising the arrangements made. Syed Mehboob, from Ladakh, also shared his gratitude, highlighting the embassy’s assistance in reaching Delhi. A recent flight brought back 281 Indian nationals, along with three Sri Lankans and two Nepalese citizens, further expanding the total number of evacuees under Operation Sindhu to 2576. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed India’s commitment to assisting those in need, including neighboring countries like Nepal and Sri Lanka. The MEA stated that Operation Sindhu aims to assist all Indian nationals seeking evacuation, and is extending support to neighboring countries.
