A senior Indian Army official has revealed the strategic brilliance behind ‘Operation Sindoor’, a decisive retaliatory strike against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Command, stated in an exclusive interview that the operation successfully dismantled nine terror camps and served as a direct response to the tragic April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, predominantly tourists. The operation, executed with remarkable precision, involved coordinated efforts from the Army, Air Force, and Navy. In a swift 20-22 minute window on May 7, over 100 terrorists were neutralized. “Our objective was clear: there should be no collateral damage. We succeeded in this mission – even nearby buildings were not harmed. This clearly reflects our high capability in surveillance and targeting,” Lieutenant General Singh emphasized. The official further highlighted Pakistan’s failed attempts to retaliate on May 8 and 9, with all incoming threats, including loitering munitions, being effectively intercepted by Indian forces. Following these successful defensive measures, India launched a counter-offensive, reportedly destroying 11 Pakistani air force bases. This decisive action led to Pakistan’s ‘panic’ and subsequent proposal for a ceasefire, which India accepted only after inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Lieutenant General Singh reiterated that ‘Operation Sindoor’ underscores India’s unwavering capability to respond with precision and inflict severe damage on military capabilities if provoked by terrorist attacks or further escalation.
