The Lok Sabha is set to hold a special discussion on ‘Operation Sindoor’ during the Parliament Monsoon Session of 2025. This discussion will focus on India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address the Lok Sabha. The debate is anticipated to be intense, involving leaders from the ruling alliance and the opposition. The agenda item is listed as a ‘Special Discussion on India’s strong, successful and decisive ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.’ The attack, which occurred on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of twenty-six civilians. India retaliated with precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Since the monsoon session began on July 21, the Parliament has faced constant adjournments due to opposition demands for debates on crucial issues, including the Pahalgam terror attack and the ongoing SIR exercise in Bihar.
