Following a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep concern over the ongoing violent protests in Nepal. The demonstrations, fueled by issues of corruption and a social media ban, have resulted in the loss of life among young people. PM Modi conveyed his sorrow for the deceased and urged all parties to maintain peace and order within Nepal. The government had lifted the social media ban, yet unrest persists. The Indian embassy has issued a helpline for Indian citizens in Nepal, and security along the border has been heightened.
