Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Croatia on Wednesday, marking the final stop of his three-nation visit. His arrival in Zagreb followed his participation in the G7 Summit in Canada.

Upon arrival, PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome, symbolizing a significant moment in the India-Croatia bilateral relationship. This visit is the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, and it’s expected to open new opportunities for collaborative efforts in areas of mutual interest.

During his visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to have bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and to meet with the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic.

The visit to Croatia also emphasizes India’s dedication to strengthening its connections with European Union partners.

PM Modi reflected on his time in Canada, describing it as “productive” and noting that the G7 Summit involved fruitful conversations on a range of global topics. He stated that India remains committed to promoting global peace, prosperity, and sustainability.

During the G7 Summit, PM Modi participated in the Outreach Session and addressed a session focused on ‘Energy Security: diversification, technology, and infrastructure to ensure access and affordability in a changing world.’

In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that energy security is one of the most important challenges facing future generations. He outlined India’s commitment to inclusive growth, stating that availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability are the key principles that guide India’s approach to energy security.

He highlighted that despite being the world’s fastest-growing major economy, India has met its Paris commitments ahead of schedule. Stressing India’s commitment to a sustainable and green future, he highlighted initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, and One Sun- One World- One Grid, urging international cooperation to bolster these initiatives.
