    Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Japan for a two-day visit, attending the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit at the invitation of his counterpart, Shigeru Ishiba. The visit is seen as an opportunity to advance India’s national interests and strengthen global peace and security. During his first day in Japan after a seven-year absence, PM Modi engaged with the Indian community in Tokyo, expressing his appreciation for their warm welcome. Japanese artists also performed cultural displays for the occasion. Addressing the India-Japan Economic Forum, PM Modi acknowledged Japan’s long-standing role in India’s development, highlighting investments exceeding $40 billion from Japanese companies in sectors like metro rail, manufacturing, semiconductors, and startups. He emphasized India’s political and economic stability, policy transparency, and its position as one of the fastest-growing major economies globally, poised to become the third-largest worldwide. Furthermore, PM Modi announced a joint credit mechanism agreement with Japan, focusing on clean fuel and a green future. He also discussed India’s ambitious initiatives in AI, semiconductor manufacturing, quantum computing, biotech, and space, stressing the potential for a tech revolution through collaboration. PM Modi underscored that India serves as a springboard for Japanese businesses into the Global South, aiming to shape an Asian century characterized by stability and prosperity. Discussions also touched upon cooperation in Artificial Intelligence, space, and clean energy, with the objective of fostering resilient supply chains and enhancing economic security.
