PM Modi to Inaugurate Purnia Airport and Launch Development Projects Worth ₹36,000 Crore in Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a rally in the Purnia district of Bihar, an electoral state, and inaugurate development projects valued at ₹36,000 crore. He will also inaugurate the terminal of a newly constructed airport in the northern Bihar city, fulfilling a long-standing demand for improved air connectivity in the region. A key highlight of the Prime Minister’s visit is the inauguration of the National Makhana Board, established following an announcement in the Union Budget earlier this year. Bihar produces nearly 90% of the makhana, or Indian fox nut, in the country, which the Prime Minister has praised as a superfood in numerous speeches. The National Makhana Board’s launch in Purnia is expected to greatly benefit the farmers connected to this industry. The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Purnia Airport at 2:20 PM via an IAF BBJ aircraft and will inaugurate the terminal building. Afterwards, he will proceed to address a public gathering and inaugurate various local schemes and projects. Modi is also scheduled to flag off the Jogbani-Patna Vande Bharat Express train. Security measures have been heightened in Purnia for the Prime Minister’s visit. It is anticipated that the elections in the state will be announced in the coming weeks.
