Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to evaluate the impact of the recent floods and landslides that have caused significant devastation. The Prime Minister’s travel follows reports of extensive loss of life and property due to severe weather conditions in these states. Himachal Pradesh has been struck by multiple landslides and cloudbursts, leading to considerable disruption of daily life and infrastructure damage. Meanwhile, Punjab is facing major flooding as a result of heavy monsoon rainfall. Prior to his journey, PM Modi participated in the 15th Vice Presidential election, exercising his right to vote alongside other key ministers and Members of Parliament.
