As Bihar gears up for elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has ignited a political firestorm with a provocative statement targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a public rally in Muzaffarpur, Gandhi asserted that Prime Minister Modi is willing to resort to theatrical stunts, including dancing on stage, to secure votes. He made these remarks while sharing the platform with key opposition figures, including Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan alliance.

Gandhi’s assertion suggested a willingness by the Prime Minister to engage in ‘drama’ for electoral gain. The BJP has swiftly responded to these comments, with party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari condemning Gandhi’s remarks as an insult to the nation’s poor who support Prime Minister Modi. Bhandari further characterized Gandhi’s speech as akin to that of a ‘local goon’ and accused him of mocking Indian democracy and its voters. This exchange intensifies the political rivalry between the BJP and Congress as the Bihar elections approach, with the BJP also having previously accused Gandhi of political absenteeism.
