In a major win for Delhi’s environmental crusade, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta lauded the Delhi Metro’s swift implementation of pollution-fighting technology across its elevated network. The ambitious project to equip all 143 stations with mist sprays or anti-smog guns has been completed ahead of the deadline, she revealed.

Air pollution remains a critical concern for the national capital, and the government is leaving no stone unturned. Gupta detailed how 131 mist spray systems grace sensitive metro areas, supplemented by 12 anti-smog guns in technically challenging spots. This blend of 89 on-road and 54 off-road installations ensures no gaps in the pollution mitigation strategy.

The measures not only target improved air quality but also elevate the commuter experience with fresher surroundings. Complementing this, 50 metro pillars now boast vibrant artwork inspired by nature and Indian heritage, blending functionality with beauty.

Gupta reiterated the administration’s holistic agenda: safeguarding the environment while fostering a picturesque urban landscape. ‘Delhi deserves to be pollution-free and visually stunning,’ she asserted, appreciating the synergy among agencies.

With these advancements, Delhi positions itself as a leader in sustainable urban development, offering hope against seasonal air quality dips and inspiring nationwide replication.
