Film critic KRK, whose real name is Kamal Rashid Khan, has secured bail in the high-profile Oshiwara firing incident that rattled Mumbai residents. The Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court approved his release on a 25,000-rupee personal bond, marking a quick resolution just seven days post-arrest.

The drama began in a quiet Oshiwara residential complex when two loud gunshots pierced the night on January 23. No casualties were reported, a stroke of luck for the building housing notable figures like director Neeraj Kumar Mishra and model Prateek Vaidya. They were among the first to report the unsettling sounds to the police.

Rapid investigations led cops to KRK’s home, where evidence pointed directly to his involvement. Arrested that evening, he endured days of grilling and a reconstruction of events at the scene. Authorities confiscated his licensed pistol and found unfired ammunition nearby.

KRK’s statement to police painted a picture of an unfortunate mishap: he was polishing his weapon, not aiming to threaten anyone. Before the court, his lawyers contended that his vocal Bollywood critiques make him a target for false accusations. They floated the theory of a mysterious shooter, challenging the prosecution’s narrative.

Known for his fiery online persona, KRK has faced multiple run-ins with the law over inflammatory content. This bail offers temporary respite, but the probe persists amid questions on gun handling protocols in densely populated city zones. Mumbai police remain vigilant, promising thorough scrutiny to uncover the full truth.
