Ahead of India’s 75th Republic Day celebrations, the Central Bureau of Investigation has cause for pride as 31 of its members bag elite national police medals. The honors, announced on January 25, comprise six President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service and 25 Police Medals for Meritorious Service, rewarding unparalleled dedication to justice and security.

From spearheading high-stakes investigations into corruption and economic offenses to fortifying national integrity, these professionals have left an indelible mark. Their efforts bolster public trust in institutions combating white-collar crimes and administrative lapses.

Distinguished awardees include Delhi Zone chief Chandrashekar Venupullei (IPS), headquarters’ Amit Srivastava, New Delhi’s Mukesh Sharma, Kolkata’s Pramod Kumar Yati, Ghaziabad Academy’s Chaman Lal, and Hyderabad’s Amu Golla. Each has demonstrated exceptional skill, honesty, and command in their domains.

Joining them in the meritorious category are SC Zone’s Venkata Subba Reddy Chinnakandu (IPS), Mumbai’s Sadanand Date, New Delhi’s Manmohan Sharma and Dipti Vashishth, Chennai’s Narikote Nandini, Lucknow’s Vinod Kumar, and Jaipur’s Puran Mal Gurjar, representing a broad spectrum of roles from senior IPS officers to field staff and technical experts.

Notably, the awards extend to auxiliary roles—programmers, superintendents, and constables—affirming the CBI’s strength lies in unified teamwork across hierarchies.

In their message, CBI directors hailed the recipients as embodiments of organizational pride, urging all personnel to emulate this spirit of excellence. These recognitions serve as a beacon, inspiring sustained vigilance and innovation in tackling India’s complex security challenges.
