The National Investigating Agency (NIA) court delivered its verdict on July 31, 2025, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, acquitting all accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh and Lt Col. Purohit, after a 17-year legal battle. Following the acquittal, Sadhvi Pragya expressed that the case had significantly impacted her life. She proclaimed, “Bhagwa has won,” and further stated that the case was a conspiracy to defame the ‘Bhagwa.’

She recounted her ordeal, stating that she was arrested and tortured during the investigation, which ruined her life. Pragya, who was leading the life of a sage, was falsely accused, and she felt abandoned during the process. She attributed her survival to her status as a Sanyasi. “They defamed Bhagwa through a conspiracy. Today, Bhagwa has won, and Hindutva has won, and God will punish those who are guilty,” she stated. The court also addressed compensation, ordering Rs 2 lakh for the families of each of the six victims and Rs 50,000 for the injured. The prosecution proved the Malegaon blast occurred, but failed to establish the link between the bomb and the motorcycle. The court also corrected the number of injured from 101 to 95 and found manipulations in the medical certificates.
