The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has imposed a ban on caste-based rallies, programs, and public events. Furthermore, the police will no longer include caste details in FIRs, arrest memos, public places, and government documents. This decision has sparked controversy. While caste-based organizations have expressed their displeasure, opposition parties are also raising questions. Simultaneously, opposition to the government’s order has begun within the NDA itself.

Dr. Sanjay Nishad, the National President of the Nishad Party and a cabinet minister, has opposed the government’s decision. He has requested the government to either approach the Supreme Court or find a solution. He stated that imposing restrictions on caste-based programs is incorrect. He mentioned that he will write letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP high command regarding this matter.
